ALEX SEPKUS
Alex Sepkus was a Lithuanian-born designer whose creations live on through his business partner, Jeff Ferro and their New York City based company. Alex Sepkus’ personal design philosophy was for his pieces to be fun and beautiful creations meant to be worn every day. Alex Sepkus very rarely sketched on paper, he preferred to carve directly into wax, which was then cast in metal. Once Alex completed a piece, he brought it to his team of craftsmen and personally trained them to execute the techniques necessary to complete the work. Only after each craftsman mastered the specific skills was the piece put into production. Each process in creating Alex Sepkus jewelry is done entirely under a microscope. From hand hammering, chasing, engraving, gemstone setting, and final finishing, no small detail is compromised. His pieces are known to have microscopic detailing and hidden whimsical surprises within the carvings.
